Delineating the treatment strategy requires a consideration of the age, socio-economic status, occupational demands, degree of activity, general health and associated diseases, rehabilitation potential and patient compliance. The need for early physical, occupational, socio-economic and psychological rehabilitation has to be borne foremost in mind.
